PKRU hosted National & International Symposium 2021


(June 15th 2021) The Research and Development Institute and Faculty of Management Science at Phuket Rajabhat University, together with UCSI University from Malaysia, hosted the 13th PKRU National Symposium on "Multidisciplinary Integration for Local Development" via Zoom application; and Phuket International Tourism Conference 2021 on “Crisis Management in Tourism and Hospitality Challenge, Responses and Recovery Strategies” via live streaming.


In the national conference, the special talk was about Tourism Crisis Affected by COVID – 19, Effects and Opportunities for Sustainable Tourism. The talk was led by Mr. Bhumikit Raktaengam, the President of Phuket Tourism Business Association; Asst. Prof. Dr. Chayanon Phucharoen, the Vice President in Research and Graduate Education at Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality, Prince of Songkhla University Phuket Campus. Meanwhile, the international conference featured a talk by Prof. Dr. Terdchai Chueybamroong, from the National Institute of Development; Prof. Dr. Noel Scott from University of the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia and Professional Dr. Dimitrios Buhalis from Bournemouth University, United Kingdom.



Phuket Rajabhat University hosted the symposium and international conference under the awareness of research and innovation importance. The university has issued a policy supporting the lecturers in conducting research, creative and innovative works; including co-working for further study of the existing research at graduate level. The university also focuses on presenting quality research and dissertations to the public for the purpose of knowledge and experience sharing and implementation. The Research and Development Institute, PKRU, therefore, hosted the event as the public area for lecturers, scholars, and students to present and share their research and academic works; at the same time they build the academic cooperation network, research development and implementation in the community for sustainable development and social needs.
