PKRU And Royal Phuket Museum To Establish International Art Tourist Attraction


PRPKRU (June 16th 2021) The Art and Culture Center at Phuket Rajabhat University together with Phuket Provincial Cultural Center signed an MOU with Art Antique Research Co., Ltd. (Royal Phuket Museum and Art Gallery) and launched a new art exhibition; with representatives including Asst. Prof. Dr. Hiran Prasarnkan, the President of PKRU; Asst. Prof. Dr. Thawatchai Thoomthong, the Vice President in Academics; Asst. Prof. Dr. Khan Phayoongphan, Director of PKRU Art and Culture Center; Mr.Oleg Borisovich Tarkhanov, executive of Royal Phuket Museum and Art Gallery and Mr.Maxim Sukharev, specialist and researcher in arts.


Asst. Prof. Dr. Khan said at the event that “From now, the new normal of tourism in Phuket is changing for the island to welcome tourists after the crisis of COVID–19. Tourists from all over the world will not only experience nature, seafood and local cuisines, but will also be fascinated by the new Phuket contributed by the collaboration between 3 organizations, especially this exhibitions of paintings created by European and Asian famous contemporary artists. Moreover, the island will be presenting local crafts and arts of Batik, Pateh, and other icons, in order to promote tourism and income to locals. The 3 organizations will work together in hosting visual art exhibitions, along with touring and education in arts for students, local residents, and tourists; providing gallery management systems turning them into training venues for painting, sculpture, art critics, art tour guides; and promoting the island as a new attraction of arts among tourists in the high end market of Andaman tourism.”
