PKRU hosts seminar in Thai language phenomenon
PRPKRU (September 30th 2022) Thai Language Program, Faculty of Humanity and Social Science at Phuket Rajabhat University arranged the seminar in the topic of ‘the Color of Language – Phenomenon, Evolution, or Destruction in Thai Language’; at Tian Sirinthorn Conference Room in Chalerm Phrakiat Building. There were Asst. Prof. Dr. Hiran Prasarnkarn, the President of PKRU; Asst. Prof. Dr. Worapong Chairuek, the Vice President in Academic Affairs; lecturers, staff and students attending the seminar.
The main instructors sharing experience of using Thai language in various fields in this seminar were Mr. Apisit Konchom, the DJ, MC, and digital content producer; Khun Pinjinda Dilokpaet, the Member of Phuket City Minucipality Council Region 1; Ajarn Suriya Thongkham, the Lecturer at OKRU Thai Program; and Mr. Kampol Siriwatanyu, the Committee Member of the Lawyers Council Region 8.
The seminar's main topic was the colorful and varied ways in which people, particularly celebrities, use language and communicate. Language used by these people can sometimes make them attractive or even criticize them in various ways, so we can say that language is one of the factors influencing people's flame and reputation.
The audience was given the opportunity to share their comments and opinions on whether the use of Thai language today is creative or destructive, based on case studies of Thai Program students in Forms and Methods of Language Used by Chef Pom in MasterChef Thailand; Intentional Communication Form and Language Used by Laywer Sittra Biabangkeird When Giving Interview: A Case Study of Tangmo Nida Case in Hon Krasae TV Program; and Chatchart Sitthipan – the Communication in Bangkok Flood.
