PKRU works with Kok Kloi community on tie dye design using mangosteen leaf color

The lecturers from Phuket Rajabhat University's Hotel Management Program, Faculty of Management Science, visited and worked on BCG-based economy and social development regarding the Covid -19 pandemic as part of the government's U2T for BCG project in Kok Kloi community, Takau Toong District, Phang Nga. After surveying and gathering information on local plants, animals, food, restaurants, and agriculture, the lecturers discovered two interesting products in the community: Thip Phang Nga Tie Dye products and foot relieving herbs.

One of the products was then developed by Hotel Management Program lecturers; Thip Phang Nga tie dye products were redesigned and dyed using the mangosteen leaf color, a plant commonly found in the community. This production not only makes the products more unique, but it also adheres to Phang Nga province's Zero Waste policy. The project was a success thanks to the dedication of the Kok Kloi Administrative Organization, local career clusters, Ban Na Klang Learning Center, community enterprise supporting agency, and locals.
