PKRU organized a recycling product design competition
PRPKRU (December 2nd 2022) The Office of Art and Culture at Phuket Rajabhat University (Culture PKRU) hosted the 1st Andaman Art and Culture Community Innovator at Kae Saed Conference Room, Chalerm Phrakiat Building, Phuket Rajabhat University; attendees included Asst. Prof. Dr Thawatchai Thumthong, PKRU Vice President; Asst. Prof. Dr Khan Phayoongphan, the Director of PKRU Office of Art and Culture; PKRU students, students and teachers from local schools, and related personnel.
According to Asst. Prof. Dr. Khan Phayoongphan, "the Office of Art and Culture has the important mission of conserving local art and culture, conveying and preserving Thai identity and local wisdom, and being a local art and culture learning center."
The goal of this competition is to create Young Andaman Innovators, or a new generation of people in Phuket, Phang Nga, and Krabi who will work on developing innovations for local development as well as art and culture conservation. This is the second year of the project to train local youth to be community innovators and knowledge instructors. The event followed the Royal Philosophy of Sufficiency Economy, which encouraged people to reuse or recycle trash or natural materials.
In this project, the students were trained to recycle trash by Ajarn Saisanit Pongsuwan, the Lecturer in Biology. Besides, there was the recycling product design competitions in 3 levels including secondary school, high school, and higher education. There were 75 students competed in in this event. The winner of each level were handed prizes and certificate by the Governor of Phuket and the President of PKRU.
Ajarn Saisanit Pongsuwan, a Lecturer in Biology, trained the students in trash recycling for this project. There were also recycling product design competitions at three levels: secondary school, high school, and higher education. This event featured 75 students competing. The Governor of Phuket and the President of PKRU presented prizes and certificates to the winners of each level.
