The First China-ASEAN Industry-Academia-Research International Conference Held at the Phuket Rajabhat University, Thailand
On 13 May 2023, the first China-ASEAN Industry-Academia-Research International Conference was successfully held in Phuket, Thailand. The event was organised by the Asia China Education and Culture (ACEC) Association, the Phuket Rajabhat University and the China-ASEAN Alliance of Universities Electronic Information Innovation of CAIH, bringing together government, industry and Chinese and Thai universities, with the aim of strengthening the in-depth cooperation between industry, academia and research in higher education on the "Belt and Road" between China and ASEAN. It aims to strengthen the cooperation and exchange between industry, academia and research in higher education in China and ASEAN countries.
The event was held at the auditorium of the Phuket Rajabhat University and was hosted by President of the Phuket Rajabhat University. Prof. Hiran, President of the Phuket Rajabhat University, Mr Yang Chengcheng, Regional Executive Director of ACEC Association, Mr. Thanusak Phungdet, President of Phuket Chamber of Commerce, Dr. Bhuritt Maswongssa, the Andaman Region Tourism Development Committee, Ministry of Tourism and Sports, Ms. Wilaiporn Pitimanaaree, Vice President of Central Pattana Public Company Limited and Prof. Liang Chaozhao, Vice President of Anhui Medical University, Prof. Guo Hongfei, Vice President of Inner Mongolia University of Technology, Prof. Zhu Zunling, Dean of the College of Art & Design, Nanjing Forestry University and Asst. Prof. Dr. Om Huvanandana, Adviser to Entrepreneurship program of PKRU were invited to deliver speeches.
The opening speech was delivered by the Vice Governor of Phuket, Mr. Amnuay Pinsuwan. The Director of the Phuket Consular Office, Li Chenglong, attended the conference to officially launch the Belt and Road Cross-cultural (BRICC) Industry-Academia-Research Program International Expert Recruitment and the International Internship and Exchange Programme for Thai Students in China. The Expert Recruitment Programme is aimed at Thai experts and scholars to collaborate with the Chinese government, industry and universities to promote the transformation of scientific research results and joint economic development, while the Student Internship and Exchange Programme provides overseas study and internship opportunities for Thai students and offers employment opportunities upon their return.
It is worth mentioning that the Expert Recruitment Program brings together experts and scholars from a wide range of countries and research institutions to promote greater collaboration and innovation between experts and scholars and companies in various fields. The theme of the conference focuses on change and innovation in higher education-industry collaboration in the digital age, and the first batch of Thai experts cover cutting-edge technology fields such as digital information, new materials, digital communications and biotechnology, while experts in international business management, modern services and cross-cultural fields have also been selected. The China-Thailand Industry-Academia-Research Cooperation will help stimulate innovation, build a strong cooperation ecosystem, give a strong boost to the level of cooperation between the Chinese and Thai governments, industries and universities, accelerate the introduction and transformation of Thailand's cutting-edge technological talents, maintain its leading position in cutting-edge technology and achieve a win-win situation for both sides.
The participants expressed their desire to learn from other industrial and educational elites, update their educational concepts, innovate talent training, deepen cooperation between industry, academia and research, and work together to cultivate international talent.
