PKRU to work with DEPA to develop Phuket tourism by digital technology.

PRPKRU (16th of May, 2023) Dr. Manop Chachiyo, PKRU Vice President for Student Development and Digital Technology, represented the university at the press conference for the 'Open City Open Thailand by Digital' Digital Developer Capacity Development Activity. The event was hosted by the Digital Economic Promoting Authority (DEPA), members of the higher education institute network, and major information technology companies at the Pago Design Phuket Hotel.
The event featured the discussion in the topic of 'Creating opportunity for new generation - Creating opportunity for Thai workers in digital era' by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pita Jarupoonphol from master's degree program in digital technology; Ajarn Phurisap Dejpipatpracha, the Director of ARIT at PKRU; and Asst. Prof. Urairat Makchan, the President of bachelor's degree program in digital technology, Faculty of Science and Technology at PKRU.
This event sought to activate and increase awareness of the use of digital technology, as well as to support and promote personnel development in order to tackle the shortage of digital technology workers in businesses, particularly the tourism industry. The participants were trained in three sessions: 1. Software as a Service (SaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) development; 2. Mobile Application Development for Android and iOS; and 3. Machine Learning, Data Science, and Artificial Intelligence development.
Furthermore, DEPA signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with PKRU, Prince of Songkla University or PSU Phuket Campus, Bank of Ayudhya PCL., and Krungsri Finnovate Co., Ltd. in order to develop standard education programs in digital technology for students, start-up network, and general public, as well as connect digital ecology between universities, related entrepreneurs, start-up network, authorities, and organizations.
