PKRU to promote Sakhu local durian in Thalang Agrotourism
The Faculty of Agricultural Technology at Phuket Rajabhat University, represented by Asst. Prof. Sutthinee Pornpanpaiboon and Ajarn Kanokwan Kaew - utai, discussed lessons learned from working in tourism promotion in Thalang with representatives from local communities such as Ban Lipon Tai, Ban Kian, Ban Manik, Ban Sakhu, and staff from the Sakhu Sub - district Administrative Organization.
Aside from discussing the lessons acquired from tourism marketing in Thalang, everyone involved brainstormed the operation plan and tourism development needs for the coming year. Local representatives require the development of community members' strength, local storytellers, local product value addition, career assistance, and income generation. Then, officials from the Sakhu community accompanied all participants on a tour of the Sakhu agrotourism route, which included a local durian plantation, a vegetable farm, an agricultural demonstration center, and Chok Bancha organic Mon Thong durian, which will be promoted as Sakhu agrotourism route in the near future.
