(June 8th 2023) Phuket Rajabhat University's Faculty of Education sponsored a scholarship ceremony and orientation for students who obtained scholarships under the Kru Rak Tin Project generation 4 in the 2023 academic year. The Dean of the Faculty, Asst. Prof. Dr. Siriwan Chatmaneeroongcharoen, welcomed the students and their parents, with university executives, staff, and lecturers in attendance at the ceremony at Kae Saed Conference Toom in Chalerm Phrakiat Building.
Kru Rak Tin is a project supported by PKRU, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Higher Education Science Research and Innovation, the Office of Basic Education Commission, the Office of Teacher Civil Service and Educational Personnel Commission, and the Secretariat Office of the Teachers' Council of Thailand, with the goal of assisting needy students who are talented and have a strong desire to become teachers. Following graduation, those students will be offered the option to teach in a rural school in their home village, thereby addressing teacher shortages and driving local community development.
Furthermore, the project supports teacher education with methodology and innovation appropriate for each area's need under the three key elements to improve educational quality of learners and solve teacher shortages, which include:
1. Make higher education available to poor students in rural areas.
2. Enhance and expand teacher education and its quality.
3. Develop schools in remote locations where students in the program will work after graduation.
