PKRU hosts workshop of Batik dyeing from natural color

PRPKRU (September 11th -14th, 2023) The Office of Arts and Culture at Phuket Rajabhat University hosted a Batik dyeing workshop using soil from the Durain plantation. Asst. Prof. Dr. Paitoon Thongdee, Director of the PKRU Office of Arts and Culture, presided over the workshop's opening at Khunying Kanchana Na Ranong Art Gallery, which was attended by university staff and members of Rassada Municipality Senior School. The training was part of the project Community Local Wisdom Learning Center.
Mr. Bantao Killang, the artist and owner of Thai Batik, a local business in Khao Kram, Krabi Province, was the main instructor in this session. The participants were taught how to use the natural color of earth from a durian farm to create an old rose shade for Batik tie and dye.
