In the event, Asst. Prof. Dr. Hiran Prasankarn stated that "Promoting the university as an international or internationalization is one of the main strategies in the competitive and challenging development of the university in the 21st century." The university must address challenges such as the free trade area, which encompasses services, education, and advanced information technology. In addition, the escalating trend of university rankings has become a critical determinant for lecturers, academicians, parents, and students when selecting a university to attend. The university ranking is also the criterion that is used by both private and government sectors to allocate funds and provide budget support, as well as by the university itself to evaluate its strengths and weaknesses.
Phuket Rajabhat University has previously prioritized six objectives for its development, including the following: the first objective is to eradicate all forms of poverty in all areas; the fourth objective is to ensure that all individuals receive a comprehensive and equitable education, and to encourage lifelong learning. the fifth objectivees  is to promote gender equality and women's roles; the  thirteen objectives is to immediately address  and deal with the effects of climate change; the sixteenth objective  is to foster sustainable development and peace in society by ensuring that all individuals have access to justice and promoting accountability and effectiveness at all levels of the university; and the seventeenth objective is to enhance the performance mechanism and reestablish international collaboration for sustainable development.

As a result, the university organizes the SDGs International Day with the objective of promoting sustainable development and improving the university's global reputation.
