The primary instructors of this workshop were Asst. Prof. Vet. Terdsak Yano from the Faculty of Veterinary Science and Dr. Tossaporn Kiwprasopsak from the Faculty of Economics at Chiang Mai University. The primary focus of the workshop was on the design of SROI assessment instruments, assessment techniques, and the exchange of knowledge among the university's executives, lecturers, and staff. In addition, this workshop was conducted following the government's policy that stressed the importance of budgeting, which should be valuable and lead to positive outcomes for target groups, communities, society, and the nation. The SROI assessment serves as a means to determine whether the budget was utilized effectively. The assessment result plays a crucial role in the allocation of the annual budget.

Consequently, PKRU has organized multiple workshops to enhance staff understanding of the assessment to date. Beginning in 2025, every university project will be required to include the SROI assessment alongside the project's result report. This workshop marks the initial effort to encourage all departments within the university to deliver effective assessments.
