PKRU hosts training on higher order thinking skill needed for new career

The Mathematics Program, Faculty of Education at Phuket Rajabhat University, conducts an open class for the educational institute network and a professional learning development workshop for schools using TLSOA innovation. This activity is a component of the teaching competency development project, which is dedicated to equipping students with higher order thinking skills to succeed in the emerging workforce; and non-degree education project supported by the Office of the Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Higher Education Science Research and Innovation. The opening of the event was presided over by Dr. Manop Chachiyo, the Vice President of PKRU, in the presence of the participants, which included Asst. Prof. Dr. Suwicha Wiriyamanuwong, the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Education; executives and teachers from schools in the Mathematics Education Network; executives and teachers from local schools involved in Bandit Pan Mi project including schools under Phuket City Municipality and Takua Pa Municipality, schools under Phuket Primary Educational Area, Tarik Pittayapat School, schools in Kajornkait Group and under graduate and graduate students from Mathematics Education Program.
The event was conducted at the Kae Saed Conference Room in the Chalerm Phrakiat Building, PKRU.

Phuket Rajabhat University's Faculty of Education has been the focal point of teacher education throughout the nation's educational revolution. The faculty is dedicated to the development of local educators in accordance with the university's vision and philosophy. The faculty's participation in the teacher education institute network, which utilized the Thailand Lesson Study integrated Open Approach (TLSOA), led to the development of this training and workshop. In this event, the faculty has the opportunity to present the curriculum titled "Higher Order Thinking Skill Development Needed for New Careers" for approval as the new curriculum under the Bandit Pan Mi (New Gen Graduates) project. The curriculum's objective is to produce teachers and educational workforce that adhere to the educational revolution policy of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation in Fiscal Year 2566 B.E.
The workshop at this event was a collaboration between the university network for teacher education, which utilized TLSOA innovation. The workshop's primary instructors were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Maitree Inprasit, who introduced the innovation concept from Japan to Thailand and subsequently developed it into the TLSOA innovation; along with the instructors from members of university network including 1) Khon Kaen University 2) Nakhon Phanom University 3) Ubon Ratchathani Rajabhat University 4) Silpakorn University 5) Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University under the Royal Patronage 6) Lampang Rajabhat University 7) Taksin University 8) Prince of Songkla University Pattani Campus and 9) Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University. The open class was attended by executives, teachers, and parents from Tarik Pittayapat School, where TLSOA innovation has been implemented since 2022.
