PKRU has partnered with TNDR in order to prepare for disasters in the southern region,

As a member of the Thai Network for Disaster Resilience (TNDR), Phuket Rajabhat University participated in the meeting to prepare for disasters in the southern region. Prince of Sonkla University, Walailak University, Surat Thani Rajabhat University, Yala Rajabhat University, Sonkla Rajabhat University, and the National Sport College Krabi Campus were among the six universities that participated in the meeting, in addition to the government and private sectors. Prince of Songkla University hosted the event.
The primary objective of this event is to establish the mission of the members in the context of advancing the resilience plan and establishing contingency plans for disasters that occur in the southern provinces. Phuket Rajabht University, represented by Ajarn Dittaporn Kaewmuneechot from the Faculty of Science and Technology's Architectural Technology, shared the audience's experience and recommendations during the calamity in Phuket at this event.
The participants also engaged in a brainstorming and analysis of a risk and resilience plan for dealing with disasters in the southern provinces. This was due to concerns that the tourism industry, which is a significant source of income for the region, would be impacted by the disaster. In the first quarter of this year, the tourism industry contributed 38,700 million baht to the region. In addition, the southern scholars’ networks were established to facilitate future collaboration, personnel exchange, disaster education for local communities, research on disasters in high-risk areas, risk analysis, the establishment of a plan for risky area inspection, and the development of a practical resilience plan.
