On June 18, 2025, Phuket Rajabhat University (PKRU) was honored with a national honorable mention award for its outstanding community development project under the Social Engineering initiative at the Thailand Research Expo 2025.

Representing the university, Dr. Manop Chachiyo, Vice President for Student Affairs, together with Asst. Prof. Dr. Jantana Saengkaew, faculty advisor of the Social Engineering project, and students Ms. Sirikwan Homroskla and Ms. Thanyaporn Sri-Aram, received the award for their project titled “Enhancing Tie-Dye Fabric with Local Identity Patterns and Natural Colors: A Case Study of Ban Thon Chamook Khwai Community, Khlong Thom Nuea Subdistrict, Khlong Thom District, Krabi Province.”

The award was presented as part of the Outstanding Social Engineering Research Presentation Competition, held during the Thailand Research Expo 2025 from June 16–20, 2025 at Centara Grand and Bangkok Convention Centre, Central World, Bangkok.

This recognition highlights the university's commitment to advancing social innovation in partnership with local communities to foster sustainable development.
