PKRU Hosts Focus Group to Gather Insights for Developing Health & Wellness Curriculum
September 10, 2025 — Phuket Rajabhat University (PKRU) organized a Focus Group Meeting on “Labor Market Demands and Curriculum Development in Response to Emerging Trends and Directions in Health & Wellness” at the Conference Room, 3rd Floor, Chalermprakiat Building. The session was chaired by Asst. Prof. Dr. Hiran Prasarnkarn, President of PKRU, and attended by Asst. Prof. Dr. Thawatchai Thoomthong, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Piyanat Sakulpipat, Deputy Director of Medical Services at Vachira Phuket Hospital; Mr. Thammawat Wongcharoenyot, President of the National Sports Association; along with representatives from government agencies, the private sector, and relevant experts.
The objective of the meeting was to create a platform for stakeholders across various sectors to exchange insights on labor market needs and discuss strategies for developing academic programs that align with the growth of the Health & Wellness industry, one of Thailand’s key targeted sectors.
Furthermore, the outcomes of this Focus Group will serve as essential groundwork for PKRU’s roadmap to enhance its role in producing qualified graduates, advancing research, and providing academic services focused on Health & Wellness excellence. This initiative aims to strengthen the university’s capacity to meet the growing demand for a skilled health and wellness workforce while contributing to the improvement of public well-being and quality of life.
