PKRU Presents Copies of Provincial Announcement on Registration of Phuket Heritage Sites

(25 September 2025) – Phuket Rajabhat University (PKRU), through its Office of Arts and Culture Affairs, in its capacity as the Phuket Local Environmental and Cultural Heritage Conservation Unit and as the Head Office of the Andaman Coastal Conservation Unit, presented copies of the Phuket Provincial Announcement on the Registration of Phuket Heritage Sites.
The three designated conservation areas under the Local Environmental and Cultural Heritage Conservation Unit are administered by the Office of Arts and Culture Affairs, PKRU. These efforts aim to translate national policies on natural and cultural heritage conservation into local practice and to promote community participation in preserving valuable resources. The Conservation Unit is one of the Office’s key missions and results from area-based integration between the Office of Natural Resources and Environmental Policy and Planning (ONEP), educational institutions in Phuket Province, and agencies across the Andaman coastal region, playing a vital role in advancing conservation initiatives at the local level.

On this occasion, the Office of Arts and Culture Affairs, led by Ms. Tangthao Saejea, Deputy Director for Academic Services, together with the General Administration team, acting on behalf of the Phuket Local Environmental and Cultural Heritage Conservation Unit, visited the communities to deliver copies of the provincial announcement on heritage registration following conservation-related activities in three communities:
1.Ban Hin Luk Diao Community, Mai Khao Subdistrict – the announcement was received by Village Headman Mr. Phanuphan Jindaphon.
2.Pu Dam Community, Koh Kaew Subdistrict – the announcement was received by community representatives.
3.Tha Sak (Ban Para) Community, Pa Khlok Subdistrict – the announcement was received by community representatives.
