Privy Councilor Inspects Operations of Phuket Rajabhat University, Follows Up on the Implementation of Local Development Strategies under the Royal Policy, with a Focus on Developing “Social Engineers” and Expanding Educational Opportunities through a Credit Accumulation System to Promote Lifelong Learning

 (5 February 2026) At Thiansirindhorn Conference Room, Chalermphrakiat Building, Phuket Rajabhat University, General Dapong Ratanasuwan, Privy Councilor, paid an official visit to inspect and follow up on the operations of Phuket Rajabhat University. The visit aimed to review the progress of the Rajabhat University Strategy for Local Development for Fiscal Year 2026.

The inspection was attended by Mr. Nirat Phongsittithaworn, Governor of Phuket Province; Asst. Prof. Dr. Hiran Prasarnkarn, President of Phuket Rajabhat University; along with the university’s executive team and heads of government agencies, who jointly extended a warm welcome.

During the visit, the Privy Councilor received briefings on key issues, including administrative management and budget utilization for local development, with an emphasis on ensuring that public funds generate the maximum benefit for communities and the grassroots foundation of the nation.

The visit also included a progress review of the “Social Engineer Project,” a developmental process designed to cultivate four essential competencies in students: critical thinking, communication, coordination, and innovation, enabling them to effectively address problems and contribute to the sustainable development of local communities.

In addition, updates were provided on modern academic initiatives, including the Credit Bank system and online learning programs (MOOCs). These initiatives broaden access to education for the general public and working adults, allowing learners to accumulate credits for the transfer toward academic qualifications, thereby promoting lifelong learning.

On this occasion, Mr. Nirat Phongsittithaworn, Governor of Phuket Province, delivered welcoming remarks, emphasizing that Phuket, as a world-class tourism city, is committed to sustainable development through integrated cooperation among all sectors. He highlighted Phuket Rajabhat University as a key mechanism in driving local development strategies in alignment with the Royal Policy on education of His Majesty King Rama X, which aims to strengthen learners’ foundations and enhance national stability.

The inspection by General Dapong Ratanasuwan, in his capacity as Privy Councilor, provided valuable guidance and recommendations for Phuket Rajabhat University to further apply in developing human resources, enhancing institutional performance, and elevating Phuket Province toward becoming a regional hub for tourism, the economy, and education in the Andaman region.
