On 1 March 2020, the Hotel Business Management Program, in the Faculty of Management Sciences, at Phuket Rajabhat University (PKRU), organized a seminar on ‘New Generation of Leadership for Change Management’, held under the Development of Professional Skill Project, to provide up-to-date information about hotel industry situations for PKRU staff and students. The seminar was attended by Asst. Prof. Dr. Noppadon Chanrawang, Vice President for Student Affairs; Asst. Prof. Weeraphat Chotiviriyakul, Head of Hotel Business Management Program; Dr. Cherdchai Klinthongchai, Project Manager; PKRU staff members and students; at the MS Convention Hall, Faculty of Management Sciences, Phuket Rajabhat University. The seminar was led by Khun Parit Wacharasindhu (Khun Itim), a guest speaker, giving a special lecture and answering the students’ questions relevant to politics, economy, society and education.
This seminar was organized by the Bachelor’s Program in Business Administration, Hotel Business Management Program, Faculty of Management Sciences, with a main aim to enhance the quality of PKRU graduates in terms of leadership skills enhancement, intellectual curiosity enrichment, and development of life-long learning and self-learning skills. Therefore, the Hotel Business Management Program provided this supplementary activity as one of its teaching and learning processes to improve critical thinking and creative problem solving skills.
In this seminar, Khun Parit Wacharasindhu, an influencer on democracy and young social generation, who has interesting ideas and is an idol for the PKRU students, was invited to be a special guest speaker. The student participants have learned a lot regarding their leadership roles to deal with changes, current situations and facts in Thai society as well as understand their roles as leaders to creatively move forward their communities and the nation.
